RSS, something a snake would have trouble saying but something that allows content to be spread around the internet with ease. This weeks challenge was to create an RSS reader in Flash, which is nice as creating it in Java would have been a metaphorical arse-raping for me. Apologies for language there, but i know a little bit of Javascript, but not as much as what this widget idea was bombing with me. However, my girlfriend was able to read it. La di da.
Anywhom, this RSS reader will be created in Flash and will in the end, nicely nestle on clients desktops etc and tell them or ALERT them when new news from Refreshed comes through. This idea is a great way for keeping in touch with clients and also to constantly let them know that you are there, just in case they need some new work doing or in extreme cases, computer support.
The first little task I have to get round is getting flash to automatically refresh itself every now and then. This seems to be a bugger, but can be done in javascript if i embed the flash file. but that is not cool.
Well this challenge is to last the week so more updates will appear.
